Assam Rifles and the Indian Army conducted a two-day Joint Flood Relief Training exercise in Tripura aimed at enhancing coordination and operational preparedness for disaster response during flood situations in the State.

The training was organised to ensure seamless conduct of flood relief operations during natural disasters and focused on strengthening synergy, coordination, readiness and response capabilities between the two forces. Troops from both forces participated jointly in various disaster management drills and practised standard operating procedures related to rescue and relief operations.

During the exercise, personnel of Assam Rifles and the Indian Army utilised common drills, equipment and operational procedures to ensure uniformity in training and execution. The joint training has enhanced interoperability between the forces and ensured that both are adequately prepared to undertake coordinated disaster relief operations whenever required.

The exercise reaffirmed the commitment of the security forces towards providing timely assistance to civil authorities and ensuring the safety and well-being of the people during emergencies.
