In a solemn and proud milestone for the region, a fresh batch of 94 young recruits has officially been inducted into the ranks of the 119 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Assam.
The induction marks the culmination of a highly successful, rigorous recruitment drive across the zone. Chosen for their exceptional physical endurance and medical fitness, these 94 individuals represent the finest young minds ready to transition into battle-ready soldiers.
The fresh recruits are now set to embark on their structured basic military training framework. This transformative journey will instill core military values, tactical skills, and the ultimate discipline required to serve the nation effectively in challenging operational environments. The unit leadership extended a warm welcome to the incoming batch, expressing absolute confidence in their potential to uphold the stellar heritage of the Terrier Fraternity and the Assam Regiment.

Infantry Battalions of the Territorial Army (TA) contribute significantly to nation-building by supporting the regular Army during emergencies, natural disasters, internal security duties, and infrastructure protection. Comprising trained civilian volunteers, they strengthen national resilience, promote discipline and patriotism, and provide a vital link between the armed forces and society.
