Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, PVSM, AVSM, superannuated as Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) on October 31, 2026, bringing to a close an illustrious career spanning 42 years of distinguished service to the nation.

An accomplished fighter pilot and Experimental Test Pilot, Air Chief Marshal Singh made significant contributions to strengthening the operational capabilities, combat preparedness and modernisation of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

His tenure as Chief of the Air Staff was marked by decisive leadership and a strong emphasis on operational readiness. A significant chapter of his leadership was Operation SINDOOR, during which the Indian Air Force demonstrated its combat capabilities, operational precision and resolve in pursuit of national objectives.

Beyond operational leadership, he was widely recognised for his close engagement with air warriors across the organisation. His interactions with personnel at all levels reflected his belief that the strength of the Indian Air Force lies in its people.

From engaging with personnel at the grassroots level to interacting with young officers, airmen and cadets, he consistently emphasised professionalism, accountability, initiative and pride in service. His efforts to inspire young minds reflected his commitment to nurturing the next generation of air warriors and military leaders.

During his tenure, he also placed considerable emphasis on building a technologically empowered and future-ready Indian Air Force, with a focus on indigenous capabilities, innovation and the integration of emerging technologies.

His vision and guidance further reinforced the IAF’s commitment to developing a capable, credible and combat-ready force prepared to meet future security challenges.

As he concludes his distinguished service, the Indian Air Force has extended its best wishes to Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and his wife, Mrs Sarita Singh, for the years ahead.

His legacy of leadership, operational resolve, technological vision and personal connect with air warriors is expected to remain an inspiration for generations of personnel in the Indian Air Force.
