The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched Special Campaign 6.0 for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM 6.0) across its headquarters, laboratories and establishments, focusing on administrative efficiency, digital transformation and improved workplace management.
Coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the campaign aims to reduce pendency, accelerate public grievance redressal, digitise records, enhance cleanliness and optimise available workspace.
DRDO has achieved 100 per cent of its targets for resolving pending public grievances, Parliamentary Assurances and inter-ministerial references. Around 20,000 files identified for weeding out are being processed in accordance with prescribed record-retention schedules. Shredded paper is being sent to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for recycling.
As part of its digitalisation drive, approximately 5 lakh pages of historical records have been digitised, supporting improved record management and administrative transparency.
Cleanliness and space-optimisation initiatives are also underway across DRDO campuses, residential complexes and research testing ranges. The drive includes the removal of obsolete equipment, redundant furniture and scrap materials.
The environmentally responsible disposal of scrap and obsolete hardware has generated ₹35 lakh in revenue, reflecting efforts to combine administrative streamlining with resource recovery and sustainable waste management.
Through Special Campaign 6.0, DRDO aims to strengthen administrative accountability, improve operational efficiency and promote cleaner, more organised workplaces across its establishments.
