With a place in the Asian Games final at stake, India and Pakistan are set for a high-pressure semi-final where every moment could prove decisive.
India head coach Craig Fulton acknowledged the significance of the contest, stressing that semi-finals are the games where tournament campaigns reach their defining stage.
“In tournament hockey, all roads lead to this point. Semi-finals are games of consequence, so it’s exciting,” Fulton said.
The Indian camp will use the build-up to sharpen key areas of their game, with particular attention on penalty-corner execution and defence. Fulton emphasised that while Pakistan’s strengths will be considered, India’s primary focus will remain on executing their own plans.
“We’ll fine-tune all that we have to for penalty-corner attack, penalty-corner defence and whatever else we are focusing on. But the main thing is it’s about us. It’s about putting our game-plan in”.
India head into the semi-final with confidence after producing five strong performances in the tournament. The team has built valuable momentum and will now look to carry that form into the knockout stage.
Pakistan, meanwhile, will pose a familiar and dangerous challenge, particularly through their ability to create opportunities from penalty corners. With both sides just one win away from the final, discipline and execution are likely to play a crucial role.

For India, the stakes extend beyond simply reaching the final. A victory would move the defending champions one step closer to successfully retaining their Asian Games gold medal.
With the pressure rising and little margin for error, the semi-final promises to be a battle of composure, execution and tactical discipline.
