Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Officer Trainees from the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) successfully completed a five-day attachment with the Indian Army, gaining first-hand exposure to the military way of life, operational preparedness and the unique challenges faced by troops deployed in the Rann and Creek sectors of Gujarat.
The immersive engagement provided the officer trainees an opportunity to understand the operational environment and ground realities of troops serving in some of the country’s most challenging border areas. Through direct interaction with Army personnel and exposure to field conditions, the trainees gained valuable insights into the demands of military service, border management and operational readiness.
The attachment formed part of the broader Military-Civil Fusion initiative, aimed at fostering greater understanding and synergy between the armed forces and civil institutions. The interaction enabled meaningful exchange of perspectives, strengthening awareness of the complementary roles played by military and civilian agencies in safeguarding national interests.
The programme also highlighted the importance of close institutional coordination in addressing complex national-security and governance challenges. Such engagements help build mutual trust, improve inter-agency understanding and facilitate more effective cooperation during both routine operations and contingencies.
The successful completion of the attachment reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Indian Army and civil services towards strengthening national security, enhancing governance and contributing collectively to the broader objectives of Nation Building.
