As part of the Indian Navy’s operational deployment, Indian Naval Ship INS Mysore participated in the 4th edition of Exercise Samudra Laksamana with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) at Lumut, Malaysia, from 09 to 12 September 2026.
The exercise featured a comprehensive range of professional and operational engagements aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two maritime forces. During the harbour phase, personnel from both Navies participated in professional exchanges and interactions, facilitating the sharing of operational experiences and strengthening mutual understanding.
The engagement subsequently progressed to the sea phase, where INS Mysore operated alongside Royal Malaysian Navy ships KD Lekir and KD Gagah Samudera. The participating ships conducted coordinated maritime manoeuvres and exercises, enhancing interoperability, operational coordination and the ability of the two Navies to operate effectively together.
The successful conclusion of the exercise underscores the growing depth and maturity of India–Malaysia naval cooperation. It also highlights the importance of sustained professional engagement and practical cooperation in strengthening mutual operational understanding and maritime capabilities.
Exercise Samudra Laksamana marks another significant milestone in the expanding India–Malaysia maritime partnership. Building on recent bilateral engagements, including the 12th India–Malaysia Sub Committee Meeting held on 01 July 2026, the exercise has further strengthened the foundations of cooperation and interoperability between the two Navies.
