    Rail–Defence Synergy for Strategic Mobility

     A co-ordination meeting was conducted at Embarkation Headquarters, Kolkata, on 11 September 2026, with senior representatives of Indian Railways and Defence Estates, to review and enhance mechanisms for the strategic and operational movement of Defence personnel, equipment and resources.

    The meeting focused on critical aspects of movement planning, inter-agency coordination, infrastructure requirements and procedural streamlining to facilitate the timely and efficient movement of Defence resources. Various operational challenges and measures to further strengthen existing coordination mechanisms were also deliberated upon.

    Emphasis was laid on adopting a proactive, responsive and integrated approach to strategic mobility, with particular focus on timely resolution of movement-related issues and ensuring seamless coordination amongst all stakeholders.

    Representatives of Indian Railways and Defence Estates reaffirmed their commitment towards providing timely support and expeditious facilitation of Defence movements. The stakeholders also reiterated their resolve to strengthen institutional coordination and ensure effective utilisation of available infrastructure and resources.

    The meeting reaffirmed the collective commitment of all agencies towards maintaining a high state of operational preparedness and ensuring robust logistical support to the Defence Services, in furtherance of the nation’s security and operational objectives.
