During his ongoing visit to Australia, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Krishna Swaminathan held talks with Australian Chief of the Defence Force Admiral Mark Hammond in Canberra, with discussions centred on strengthening the strategic depth of the India-Australia defence partnership.
The two senior military leaders reviewed progress in implementing the Maritime Security Collaboration Roadmap and explored avenues to further enhance interoperability, operational coordination and cooperation across the maritime domain.
The discussions reflected the growing convergence between India and Australia on maritime security and the need to strengthen collective capabilities to address emerging challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
The interaction also reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to translating strategic convergence into tangible outcomes through greater operational engagement, enhanced interoperability and closer defence cooperation.
The India-Australia partnership remains focused on contributing to a secure, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific through sustained maritime cooperation and closer coordination between the two armed forces.
