Headquarters 10 Sector Assam Rifles convened a high-level Lead Intelligence Agencies (LIA) meeting in Ukhrul on 09 September 2026 to undertake a comprehensive review of the security situation in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts and further strengthen intelligence-led coordination among civil administration, Police, Intelligence agencies and security forces.
The meeting was chaired by the DIG, 10 Sector Assam Rifles and attended by the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Ukhrul, representatives of Police and Intelligence agencies, Commandants of units under the Sector and staff officers from Headquarters.

The forum witnessed detailed deliberations on the prevailing security environment and emerging challenges within the Area of Responsibility. Particular focus was accorded to the refugee situation, enforcement of Government directives and measures to check illegal trade and other activities that could adversely impact peace and stability in the region.

Emphasis was placed on real-time sharing of intelligence, coordinated operational responses and enhanced situational awareness to address emerging security challenges effectively. The meeting provided an important platform for agencies to share inputs, assess developments collectively and evolve a coordinated approach towards maintaining a secure and stable environment.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to further institutionalise intelligence-sharing mechanisms and maintain close coordination among all stakeholders.
