The Indian Air Force showcased the operational readiness and coordinated capabilities of its Do-228 fleet with an impressive ‘Elephant Walk’ involving all the aircraft at Air Force Station Yelahanka.
The formation highlighted the high standards of aircraft maintenance, crew proficiency and training, besides demonstrating seamless coordination among personnel involved in the operation.
“Strength in formation, precision in execution,” the IAF said in a post on social media, sharing visuals of the Elephant Walk.
The exercise also reflected the emphasis placed on maintaining aircraft and crew readiness for operational tasks, with the coordinated movement of the aircraft showcasing precision in execution and ground-handling capabilities.
The IAF accompanied the post with its motto, “Balamcha Budhischa”, underscoring the combination of strength and wisdom, and emphasising how training and preparedness translate into operational capability.
The Do-228 is a twin-turboprop aircraft used by the IAF for a range of roles, including transport and other support missions. Air Force Station Yelahanka, located in Bengaluru, is an important IAF station and has been associated with transport aircraft operations and training activities.
The Elephant Walk is a formation taxi involving multiple aircraft and is generally used to demonstrate aircraft availability, crew coordination, maintenance preparedness and ground operations.
