Assam Rifles conducted a Security Interaction Meeting with village leadership and community representatives at Shangshak Village Community Hall, Ukhrul District, Manipur, on 30 August 2026. The interaction was attended by Assam Rifles personnel, the Headman of Shangshak Village, members of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and 20 village representatives and residents.
The interaction provided a platform for candid exchange of views on the prevailing security situation, community welfare and issues of mutual concern. Discussions focused on strengthening coordination between the security forces and village authorities, maintaining peace and harmony, facilitating timely information sharing and promoting responsible participation of the local community in maintaining a secure and stable environment.
The participants underscored the importance of sustained dialogue, mutual trust and coordinated efforts to prevent misunderstandings and address emerging concerns in a timely manner. The meeting also reinforced the need for proactive community engagement and collective responsibility towards preservation of peace and stability in the region.
As a gesture of traditional hospitality and goodwill, the village representatives presented a traditional Naga shawl to the Assam Rifles personnel. In reciprocation, Assam Rifles felicitated the participating representatives with mementoes and gifts, acknowledging their continued support and cooperation.
Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment towards security, peace and community welfare and appreciated the residents of Shangshak for their sustained cooperation. The force urged all stakeholders to uphold unity, strengthen mutual trust and continue working collectively towards peaceful progress, stability and development in the region.
The interaction reaffirmed the enduring commitment of Assam Rifles to “Security Through Co-operation” and its resolve to remain closely engaged with the local populace for fostering peace and development.
