Asia’s largest Air Show returns to Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru:

India’s premier aerospace and defence exhibition, Aero India, will return for its 16th edition at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru, from February 8 to 12, 2027, bringing together leading global defence companies, armed forces, policymakers, technology firms and industry stakeholders.

Organised by the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence, the five-day event is expected to serve as a major platform for showcasing India’s expanding capabilities in aerospace, defence manufacturing, emerging technologies and indigenous innovation.

Aero India has evolved into a key international forum for defence business, technology exchange, strategic dialogue and military cooperation, providing Indian and global companies opportunities to explore partnerships, investments, technology collaborations and new avenues in the defence and aerospace sector.

The 2027 edition will feature a large-scale exhibition alongside business and strategic engagements, including industry-to-industry interactions, government-to-industry meetings, technology demonstrations and collaborative initiatives. The event will also feature aerial displays by the Indian Air Force and participating international flying teams, showcasing advanced aviation platforms and operational capabilities.

Online registration, exhibition booking from September 3:

A dedicated web-based portal has been developed to streamline participation by exhibitors and visitors. Online registration and booking of exhibition space will begin from September 3, 2026, through the official Aero India portal.

The exhibition is expected to provide further momentum to the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative by expanding opportunities for Indian defence manufacturers, including MSMEs and start-ups, to engage with major global aerospace and defence companies.

The five-day exhibition comes at a time when India is seeking to expand its indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities while integrating domestic companies more deeply into global aerospace and defence supply chains.

Focus on Defence Manufacturing and Global Partnerships:

Aero India has evolved into an important platform for India to showcase its growing capabilities in aerospace, defence manufacturing and emerging technologies. The 2027 edition is expected to provide opportunities for Indian and international companies to explore partnerships, investments, technology collaboration and export opportunities.

The exhibition will feature business-to-business and government-to-industry engagements, technology demonstrations and strategic interactions involving stakeholders from across the defence ecosystem.

A particular emphasis is expected to be placed on increasing participation by Indian defence industries, MSMEs and start-ups, supporting efforts to develop a stronger domestic industrial base and encourage innovation in advanced defence technologies.

IAF and International Flying Teams to Perform:

The event will also feature aerial displays by the Indian Air Force and participating international flying teams, showcasing advanced aviation platforms and operational capabilities.

The flying displays are expected to remain one of the key attractions of Aero India, alongside the exhibition of aircraft, defence systems, aerospace technologies and emerging solutions.

With India increasingly positioning itself as a reliable partner in the global defence supply chain, Aero India 2027 is expected to provide a crucial platform for defence exports, foreign investment, technology cooperation, joint ventures and industrial partnerships.

The event will also underline India’s growing ambition to move beyond being a major defence equipment importer and emerge as a competitive aerospace and defence manufacturing and export hub.

    Strategic Significance for India:

Aero India 2027 is expected to reinforce India’s push for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence while positioning the country as a reliable partner in the global aerospace and defence ecosystem.

Beyond showcasing military hardware and aviation capabilities, the event is likely to serve as a platform for expanding industrial partnerships, attracting investment, promoting defence exports and facilitating technology cooperation.

With India simultaneously pursuing greater self-reliance and stronger international defence-industrial partnerships, the 16th Aero India is expected to provide an important forum for shaping the country’s role in the evolving global aerospace and defence landscape.

With global defence companies, military delegations and technology leaders expected to participate, the 16th Aero India is poised to become a major showcase of India’s indigenous defence capabilities and its expanding role in the international aerospace and defence ecosystem.
