Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived at Barcelona, Spain, on September 1 as part of her ongoing transoceanic expedition Lokayan 26, aimed at strengthening professional maritime training and fostering international naval engagement.
During her stay in Barcelona, INS Sudarshini will undertake a series of professional and cultural engagements with the Spanish Navy and other maritime stakeholders. Sea trainees embarked onboard the vessel are also scheduled to participate in professional interactions and seamanship exchanges with their Spanish counterparts.
As part of the port visit, INS Sudarshini will be open to visitors on September 4, offering an opportunity for the local community to visit the vessel and gain an insight into India’s rich maritime traditions and naval sailing heritage.
The Lokayan 26 expedition highlights the Indian Navy’s emphasis on experiential training, seamanship and ocean sailing. The voyage also underscores India’s growing engagement with the global maritime community and the Indian Navy’s commitment to professional excellence and operational proficiency at sea.
