Balochistan Calls on Elon Musk and X to Restore Mir Yar Baloch’s Suspended Account

The self declared  Republic of Balochistan has called on Elon Musk and X to immediately lift the suspension on Mir Yar Baloch’s X account (miryar_baloch).

According to a statement attributed to Mir Yar Baloch and the Balochistan, his account @miryar_baloch was suspended after what the group described as a coordinated mass-reporting campaign by Pakistani online networks.

The statement alleged that Pakistani military-linked online networks have repeatedly attempted to have Mir Yar Baloch’s social media accounts blocked over the past two years. It claimed the alleged campaign was aimed at limiting his efforts to raise international awareness about political and human-rights issues in Balochistan. The Balochistan called on Elon Musk and X to “immediately” lift the suspension, arguing that blocking the account would not prevent Mir Yar Baloch and his supporters from communicating with an international audience.

The statement also accused Pakistan’s military and intelligence-linked institutions of attempting to suppress Baloch political activists and prevent information about developments in Balochistan from reaching international organisations and governments. These allegations were presented by the self declared Republic of Balochistan and were not independently established in the statement.

Prominent Baloch Leader Mir Yar Baloch’s statement further claimed that his campaign represents the interests of sixty millions of Baloch people and said the movement would continue its political and diplomatic efforts despite the suspension.

“Blocking an account cannot silence a voice,” the statement said, while directing supporters to Mir Yar Baloch’s reported backup X account, @miryarbaloch_.

They  also announced plans to establish a Balochistan National Television Channel, saying the proposed outlet would provide an independent platform to communicate its views and reach audiences internationally.

The statement concluded by reiterating its call for supporters around the world to stand behind what it described as the “voice of Balochistan.”

The claims regarding the account suspension, mass reporting and alleged involvement of Pakistani military-linked networks were made by Mir Yar Baloch and the self declared Republic of Balochistan. No independent evidence was provided in the statement to substantiate those allegations.

The Balochistan issue dates back to the end of British rule in the Indian subcontinent. Many Baloch nationalists contend that the former princely state of Kalat was incorporated into Pakistan in 1948 against the wishes of much of the Baloch leadership. Since then, the region has witnessed recurring insurgencies and political movements seeking greater autonomy or independence. Pakistan maintains that Balochistan is an integral part of the country and has strengthened security measures in the province. The dispute remains a longstanding and complex political issue in South Asia.
