The Balochistan has issued an ultimatum to Pakistan, demanding the withdrawal of all Pakistani military and security forces from Balochistan and calling for international recognition of the territory as an independent country.
In a statement issued on August 19, they alleged that the Pakistani Army was illegally stationed in Balochistan and accused it of exploiting the region’s natural resources and threatening the lives, property and livelihoods of local residents.
They claimed that Balochistan, following its declaration of independence, possessed what it described as the “legal and moral justification” to take action against Pakistani forces.
Key Demands:
The Balochistan called on the international community to recognise Balochistan as an independent country and urged it to facilitate the withdrawal of Pakistani military, paramilitary, police, air and naval personnel from the region.
It also demanded that Pakistani forces leave behind weapons and military equipment which the organisation claims belong to Balochistan. The statement cited historical instances involving the transfer or abandonment of military equipment following the withdrawal of foreign forces.
The organisation further alleged that Pakistan had lost the ground war in Balochistan and warned that continued military operations could result in further casualties.
In one of the key points of the statement, the Balochistan declared:“Balochistan is now an independent country, and Pakistan’s safety lies only in recognising this country.”
The Baloch called on Pakistan to withdraw its forces rather than continue military operations, arguing that recognition of Balochistan’s claimed independence would serve Pakistan’s security interests.
The statement also alleged that Pakistani forces had been responsible for large-scale violence in Balochistan, while warning against what it described as further “massacres of innocent Baloch citizens.”
The Balochistan concluded by reiterating its demand for the withdrawal of Pakistani forces and international recognition of its claimed independence.
The statement was issued by prominent Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch.
In an another incident , Mir Yar Baloch strongly condemned the reported disappearance of two Baloch women and two children from Geshkori Town, Quetta, calling for their immediate and safe recovery. He urged international human rights and child-rights organisations to take urgent notice of the case, disclose their whereabouts and ensure accountability, stressing that the reported targeting of women and children cannot be treated as an ordinary security matter.
