Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, during his official visit to Mauritius, called on Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, GCSK, FRCP, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, on 12 August.
Indian High Commissioner to Mauritius Anurag Srivastava was also present during the meeting.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral maritime security cooperation, with emphasis on training exchanges, information-sharing mechanisms, capacity-building initiatives and enhancing operational linkages between the Indian Navy and the Mauritius National Coast Guard.
Admiral Swaminathan assured the Mauritian Prime Minister of the Indian Navy’s continued support and cooperation towards capability enhancement and capacity-building efforts of the Mauritius Police Force and the Mauritius National Coast Guard.
The engagement underscored the close and longstanding maritime partnership between India and Mauritius and reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to enhancing security and stability in the Indian Ocean Region.
