The air in Bishnupur, Manipur, is currently heavy with a complex mixture of grief and resilience. As of late April 2026, the state is grappling with a renewed wave of instability following tragic events, including a recent strike in the district that claimed young lives and sparked widespread protests and shutdowns. Yet, amidst this atmosphere of “turbulence” and the deep-seated ethnic tensions that have persisted for years, a profound “silver lining” has emerged to illuminate the path forward. The success of students from the Indian Army’s ‘Super 50’ program serves as a powerful testament to the region’s enduring spirit- out of 10 students, 8 have cleared JEE Mains 2026, marking an impressive 80% success rate- proving that even in the face of profound hardship, the youth of Manipur can achieve academic excellence and reclaim their futures.

A Legacy of Discipline and Excellence:

The ‘Super 50’ program remains a perfect support system for Manipur’s youth, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds and students who require basic support and resources to bridge the gap to higher education. By offering free residential coaching for competitive exams like JEE and NEET, the program acts as a proverbial ‘Guiding Light’ for those facing significant financial barriers. The program’s unique ‘Army Discipline’ factor, characterized by supervised study groups and a strictly monitored 6–8 hour daily intensive schedule, continues to be the ‘secret recipe’ behind these life-changing results.

    The New Torch-Bearers of Success:

Leading the wave of success this year are P. Rohit and Ningthoujam Rohan Singh, whose performances have set a new benchmark for aspiring students in Manipur.

    * P. Rohit emerged as a top performer with an impressive 86.9 percentile, successfully qualifying for the JEE Advanced.
    * Ningthoujam Rohan Singh secured a strong 84.48 percentile, earning his spot to compete in the upcoming JEE Advanced.

“The Army has been providing us with security, but through Super 50, they are providing us with a bright future,” remarked a parent during the interaction and a student remarked, ‘Super 50 has given us not just coaching, but the confidence to dream beyond our circumstances and work towards a better future.’

Together, these voices reflect a quiet yet powerful resolve – where hope, opportunity, and determination are steadily shaping a brighter and more secure future for Manipur’s youth.
