The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has invited online nominations for the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award (TNNAA) 2025, the country’s highest honour for outstanding achievements in the field of adventure. The nomination process will remain open from July 21 to August 20, 2026.

Applications can be submitted through the National Awards Portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Instituted to recognise exceptional accomplishments in adventure sports and promote endurance, courage, teamwork and leadership among young people, the award is presented in four categories—Land Adventure, Water (Sea) Adventure, Air Adventure and Lifetime Achievement.

The award carries a bronze statuette, a certificate, a blazer with a silken tie or saree, and a cash prize of ₹15 lakh. It enjoys a status equivalent to the Arjuna Award and is presented by the Government of India along with the National Sports Awards.

Indian citizens with outstanding achievements in adventure activities are eligible to apply. Applicants may obtain recommendations from their respective state government’s youth or sports department or recognised adventure institutions. Recommendations are mandatory for serving personnel of the Army, Navy and Air Force. The ministry may also invite nominations from organisations or nominate deserving individuals on its own.

Applicants must upload a single indexed PDF containing year-wise achievements in chronological order along with supporting documents, wherever applicable. For the Land, Water and Air Adventure categories, achievements from the last three calendar years will be considered during the selection process.

The ministry has advised interested candidates to submit their applications before the August 20 deadline through the National Awards Portal, where detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria, FAQs and the application format are also available.
