Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth has undertaken a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness and prevailing security situation of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command, reaffirming the Army’s focus on combat readiness, force modernisation and technological advancement.

As part of his two-day visit on July 14-15, the Army Chief visited the Trishakti Corps, where he was briefed by the General Officer Commanding on operational deployments, surveillance architecture and the evolving security environment along the Eastern theatre. General Seth also reviewed ongoing initiatives aimed at technology absorption, capability enhancement and force modernisation to strengthen operational effectiveness.

Today, the COAS visited Bengdubi Military Station to assess regional security arrangements and review operational logistics supporting formations deployed in the sector.

The Army Chief later visited the Spear Corps, where he evaluated the formation’s operational preparedness amid the evolving security landscape. Senior commanders briefed him on the prevailing operational environment, inter-agency coordination mechanisms and measures being implemented to further enhance combat readiness. He also reviewed community outreach initiatives designed to foster peace, stability and development across the North East.

During interactions with commanders and troops, General Seth reiterated his vision of “VIJAY”, built on the pillars of Vigilance, Innovation, Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Yodha First. He emphasised that these guiding principles would ensure the Indian Army remains agile, adaptive and future-ready while contributing to the national objective of Viksit Bharat Vision 2047.

The COAS commended officers and soldiers for their professionalism, high morale, operational excellence and steadfast commitment while serving in demanding operational conditions, expressing confidence in the Eastern Command’s ability to effectively address emerging security challenges.
