India capped off a successful campaign at the Asian Relays Championships by winning the gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay on the final day of competition in Shaoxing, China.
The Indian quartet of Srabani Nanda, SS Sneha, Sudeshna Shivankar and Tamanna delivered a season-best performance of 43.85 seconds to finish on top of the podium and secure the gold medal.
India also added a silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay. The team comprising Theerthesh Shetty, Poovamma MR, Bharath Sridhar and Neeru Pathak clocked 3:17.06 seconds to finish second.
Earlier in the championships, the Indian mixed 4x100m relay team claimed the bronze medal. The team featured Pranav Gaurav, Tamanna, Animesh Kujur and SS Sneha.
The medals underlined India’s strong showing at the second edition of the Asian Relays Championships, with the women’s sprint relay team producing one of the standout performances of the meet.
