As part of the nationwide celebrations leading up to International Yoga Day 2026, the Indian Army’s Spearhead Division under Spear Corps organised a special yoga session at Aalo, in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Held amidst the scenic environs of the Siyom Valley, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 university students and Army personnel, underscoring a shared commitment towards physical fitness, mental wellness and holistic health.

The session, which lasted for more than an hour, included a series of yoga asanas, pranayama exercises and wellness practices designed to enhance flexibility, concentration, emotional resilience and overall well-being. Participants actively engaged in the activities, highlighting the growing awareness of yoga as an effective tool for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fostering self-discipline.

The initiative forms part of the Indian Army’s sustained efforts to promote health and wellness among the youth while strengthening civil-military engagement in the region. By bringing together soldiers and students on a common platform, the programme reinforced the values of harmony, unity and collective well-being that lie at the heart of International Yoga Day.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of the Siyom Valley, the event also reflected the Army’s commitment to community outreach and youth empowerment in the North Eastern region. The interaction provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement between the armed forces and the younger generation, further strengthening mutual trust and cooperation.

Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such programmes not only encourage physical fitness but also inspire positive living, discipline and mental resilience. The event successfully reinforced the enduring bond between the Indian Army and the youth of Arunachal Pradesh while promoting the message of wellness and national unity.
