As part of its ongoing outreach initiatives in remote border regions, the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps conducted a Medical and Dental Camp at PM Shri Government Secondary School, Rama Camp in West Kameng district, focusing on improving healthcare access and awareness among schoolchildren.
The camp aimed to provide essential medical support while promoting preventive healthcare practices in one of the country’s far-flung and difficult-to-access areas. A team of Army medical and dental professionals carried out comprehensive health and dental examinations for students, along with deworming interventions to support overall child health and wellbeing.
In addition to clinical services, the initiative included structured awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare. Students were also given practical exposure to life-saving techniques through a demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), equipping them with basic emergency response skills.
A total of 109 students benefitted from the camp, gaining valuable guidance on personal hygiene, oral care, and first-aid practices. The programme also emphasised the importance of maintaining healthy habits in daily life to prevent common illnesses.
The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Indian Army towards military-civil cooperation and community welfare in remote border areas. Through such outreach programmes, the Indian Army continues to contribute towards nation building and the vision of a Viksit Bharat @2047 by empowering young citizens and fostering a healthier future generation in strategically important regions.
