The 29th edition of the India–US Army-to-Army Staff Talks (AAST) was conducted in Hawaii, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to strengthening military cooperation and advancing shared strategic objectives.
The talks were co-chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (Strategy), Indian Army, and Lieutenant General Joel Vowell, Deputy Commanding General, US Army Pacific (USARPAC).
Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation, improving interoperability, expanding professional military exchanges and deepening operational collaboration. Both sides reviewed the progress of ongoing Army-to-Army engagements and explored avenues for further strengthening cooperation across a range of domains.
The interaction underscored the growing depth of the India–US defence relationship and reflected the shared commitment of both armies to promoting regional stability, security and a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The two sides reaffirmed their resolve to further advance the India–US strategic partnership through sustained military engagement and cooperation.
