    Eastern Railway Strengthens Push for Multilingual Communication

    Eastern Railway reviewed the progress of Official Language implementation during its quarterly Zonal Railway Official Language Implementation Committee meeting held at its headquarters for the January–March 2026 quarter. The meeting was chaired by General Manager Shri Milind Deouskar and attended by senior officials both physically and through video conferencing.

    Chief Official Language Officer Shri Parmanand Sharma highlighted the achievements made in promoting Hindi across the zone and urged divisions to organize language-related programmes at major stations while increasing the use of Hindi in official work.

    Addressing the meeting, General Manager Shri Milind Deouskar emphasized the wider use of Hindi in administration and encouraged the integration of Hindi, Bengali and other regional languages at stations and training institutes to improve communication and passenger convenience.

    The General Manager also released the latest issue of Eastern Railway Headquarters’ magazine Pratibimb.
    Chief Public Relations Officer Shri Shibram Majhi said Eastern Railway remains committed to promoting multilingual communication, strengthening engagement with passengers through the balanced use of Hindi and regional languages across its network.
