National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has called for decisive and united global action against terrorism, asserting that there can be no double standards in combating the menace.
Addressing the first International Security Forum and the 14th Meeting of High Representatives for Security Matters in Moscow, Mr Doval said responsible nations must clearly decide whether they stand with sponsors of terrorism or support strong and decisive countermeasures against them.

The high-level meeting, hosted by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, focused on the theme, “Challenges and Threats to International Security in the Context of the Emergence of the Multipolar World.”

During his address, Mr Doval also underlined the urgent need to reform global institutions and security structures established after the Second World War in 1945, stating that they must be made more effective in addressing present-day international security challenges. He stressed that the reforms should ensure greater representation for the Global South and adequately reflect the concerns and perspectives of developing nations.Referring to the evolving situation in West Asia, the National Security Adviser highlighted the importance of ensuring safe and uninterrupted maritime trade through critical international waterways, including the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.

On the sidelines of the forum, Mr Doval held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu. According to the Indian Embassy in Moscow, the two sides reviewed ongoing cooperation in defence, security, energy, and trade-economic relations.
The Indian Embassy stated in a social media post that Mr Doval’s participation reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation on global security challenges.
