A grand Flag-Off Ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan today for a vibrant student delegation from Manipur, set to participate in the prestigious 11th SPIC MACAY International Convention at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur from 25 to 31 May 2026. The ceremony was graced by the  Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, as the Chief Guest. The event was also witnessed by two senior security officials from Assam Rifles alongside the President and Patron of the SPIC MACAY Imphal Chapter, Dr. Ibomcha and Dr RK Nimai.

Comprising talented students from Assam Rifles Public School Keithelmanbi, Assam Rifles Public School Mantripukhri and Manipur University, the delegation is proudly sponsored and supported by Assam Rifles. This close association highlights the force’s enduring dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering national unity. SPIC MACAY is a celebrated non-political nationwide movement that seeks to conserve and promote rich Indian classical traditions, culture and values among the youth.

In his remarks, the Governor congratulated the young delegates for representing the State at a national forum. He highlighted that the youth must stay connected to their roots and cultural values while progressing in a modern global environment. He observed that such exposure promotes national integration and urged the students to immerse themselves in the workshops, discussions and yoga sessions at IIT Kharagpur.
