Cadets of Sainik School Nagrota put up a strong performance at the Zonal and Intra-District Athletics Meets, winning multiple medals across track and field events in the Under-14 and Under-17 categories.
The cadets excelled in a range of disciplines, including sprints, middle- and long-distance races, jumps and throws, showcasing their athletic ability and competitive spirit.
In the Under-14 category, Anjali Patel, Ansh Butola, Hitishi Sharma, Lucky Kumar, Stanzin Nangsal, Kairvi, Akshita Sharma and Rishikant clinched gold medals in various events at the Zonal Meet. Tenzin Paldon secured a silver medal in the 400-metre event.
The Under-17 cadets also recorded several podium finishes across events such as the 100m, 3000m, shot put, discus throw, triple jump, long jump and high jump at the Zonal and Intra-District Meets.
Adding to the school’s achievements, Sakshi was selected for the UT Relay Team, while Kavya Krishna Singh earned a place in the UT 4×400m Relay Team.
Principal of Sainik School Nagrota, Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, congratulated the medal winners and participating cadets for their performances. He also appreciated the efforts of the school’s Physical Training and Athletics team in nurturing sporting talent and encouraged the cadets to maintain discipline, regular practice and a competitive spirit.
The achievements underscore Sainik School Nagrota’s emphasis on sports and physical fitness as part of the holistic development of its cadets, alongside academics, leadership and character building.
