Defence Minister Rajnath Singh interacted with Officer Trainees of the 2025 Batch of the Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES) at New Delhi on August 17, during their ongoing training at the National Institute of Defence Estates Management (NIDEM).

During the interaction, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the important role played by the Defence Estates Department in the management of defence land and the municipal administration of Cantonment Boards across the country.

Emphasising the responsibilities of public servants, the Defence Minister urged the young officers to remain responsive to the evolving aspirations and expectations of citizens. He stressed the importance of ‘Seva Bhav’ in public service and called upon the officers to ensure people-friendly and accessible delivery of government services.

Rajnath Singh encouraged the officer trainees to regularly engage with citizens and listen to their grievances to develop a better understanding of their concerns and strengthen public confidence in the administration.

The Defence Minister also underscored the need for public servants and young officers to give due attention to their physical and mental well-being. He encouraged them to pursue a spiritual path and practise meditation as part of maintaining balance and resilience in their professional and personal lives.

Director General Defence Estates Shobha Gupta was also present during the interaction.
