    Assam Rifles Pipe Band to Perform in Imphal Ahead of 80th Independence Day

    In a special initiative to mark the upcoming 80th Independence Day, the Assam Rifles will organise a series of patriotic musical displays at prominent locations across Imphal West, Manipur.

    The performances, being presented by the Assam Rifles Pipe Band, are aimed at fostering national pride, unity and greater community engagement through music. The elite pipe band will showcase a repertoire of 15 musical compositions during each performance, highlighting the discipline, precision and ceremonial traditions of the force.

    The first display is scheduled at Kangla West Gate, Imphal West, on 11 August 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This will be followed by a performance at Manipur University on 12 August 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.The series will culminate with a grand finale at Kangla West Gate on 15 August 2026 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, coinciding with Independence Day celebrations.

    The initiative seeks to strengthen the bond between the Assam Rifles and the local population, with particular emphasis on engaging youth and students. Through its performances at historic and academic landmarks, the force aims to promote the values of patriotism, unity and national integration.

    The Assam Rifles has extended an invitation to the general public, youth, students and media personnel to attend the musical displays and join in the Independence Day celebrations.

    The performances are expected to add a distinctive ceremonial and patriotic dimension to the celebrations while showcasing the musical excellence and rich traditions of the Assam Rifles.
