The crew of the Indian Army Sailing Vessel (IASV) Triveni called on the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 03, 2026, following the successful completion of the Tri-Services All-Women Circumnavigation Sailing Expedition, Samudra Pradakshina.
The expedition successfully traversed over 25,000 nautical miles across some of the world’s most challenging seas, rounding the three Great Capes—Cape Leeuwin, Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. The voyage stands as a testament to the courage, endurance, seamanship and professionalism of the all-women Tri-Services crew.
Congratulating the crew on their remarkable achievement, President Droupadi Murmu commended their courage, resilience and exemplary professionalism in successfully completing the expedition. She noted that the accomplishment reflects the growing capabilities of women in the Armed Forces and their ability to undertake demanding operational and adventure missions.
The President stated that the successful completion of Samudra Pradakshina would inspire young Indians, especially women, to dream big, embrace challenges and serve the nation with dedication and commitment.
The expedition marks a significant milestone in India’s maritime adventure initiatives and highlights the spirit of jointmanship, leadership and women’s empowerment in the Armed Forces. It also reinforces the Armed Forces’ commitment to promoting excellence, adventure and gender inclusivity in national service.
