Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth, during his ongoing visit to the Spear Corps, reviewed the prevailing security situation in Manipur and assessed the operational preparedness of key formations deployed in the region, including Inspector General Assam Rifles (IGAR) South, IGAR East and the Red Shield Division.
The Army Chief was briefed by senior commanders on the current security environment, operational challenges and the readiness levels of formations engaged in maintaining peace and stability in Manipur. He also reviewed the extensive nation-building initiatives undertaken by the formations and Assam Rifles Laitkor aimed at strengthening community engagement, promoting development and fostering an environment of peace and stability in the Northeast.
Interacting with troops on the ground, General Seth lauded their professionalism, dedication and commitment while operating in a challenging security environment. He exhorted all ranks to maintain a high state of alertness, remain operationally agile and continue enhancing their preparedness to effectively respond to emerging security challenges.
The Army Chief emphasised the importance of sustained efforts towards ensuring lasting peace, stability and development in the region. His visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued focus on operational readiness, security cooperation and its commitment towards supporting peace and progress in the Northeast.
