General Dhiraj Seth, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited Dinjan, Assam, where he reviewed the operational preparedness of the Indian Army’s Dao Division and Spearhead Division. The visit underscored the Army’s continued focus on enhancing combat readiness, technological integration, and humanitarian assistance in the strategically significant northeastern region.

During the briefing, the COAS was apprised of the formations’ operational capabilities and ongoing initiatives aimed at integrating advanced technologies into military operations. He witnessed a series of Technology Absorption initiatives and indigenous innovations developed by the formations, reflecting the Indian Army’s emphasis on self-reliance and modernisation. Commending these efforts, General Seth praised the formations for their focused transformation into a technology-enabled, agile, and future-ready force capable of meeting the demands of contemporary warfare.

Interacting with officers and troops, the COAS lauded their professionalism and dedication. He urged all ranks to remain vigilant, operationally agile, and prepared to respond effectively to evolving security challenges while continuing to contribute towards enduring peace and stability in the region.

In addition to reviewing operational readiness, General Seth assessed the Indian Army’s ongoing flood relief operations across Assam. He took stock of the humanitarian assistance being provided to flood-affected communities and directed formation commanders to extend all possible support to civil authorities and local populations. Reiterating the Army’s commitment to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR), the COAS emphasised the importance of timely and coordinated efforts to alleviate the hardships faced by those affected by the floods.

The visit highlighted the Indian Army’s dual commitment to maintaining a high state of operational preparedness along the nation’s frontiers while remaining steadfast in its role as a first responder during natural disasters, reinforcing both national security and public welfare.
