    Gen Debashish Mukherjee Takes Charge as Commandant, Command Hospital (EC)

    Major General Debashish Mukherjee assumed the appointment of Commandant, Command Hospital (Eastern Command), Kolkata, on 08 July 2026. The Eastern Command of the Indian Army conveyed its best wishes to the General Officer on assuming the prestigious responsibility.

    An alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Major General Mukherjee is a distinguished Surgical Oncologist with over three decades of service in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). He has held several key clinical, academic and leadership appointments during his illustrious career.

    As Commandant of Command Hospital (Eastern Command), one of the premier tertiary care medical establishments of the Armed Forces, Major  General  Mukherjee will oversee delivery of specialised healthcare services to serving personnel, veterans and their dependents. His leadership is expected to further enhance clinical excellence, patient care and operational medical support capabilities of the hospital.

    The Eastern Command expressed confidence that his extensive professional expertise and experience will contribute significantly towards strengthening medical services and healthcare standards within the Command.
